LimeDomains –Tapping the True Potential of Web

Abhishek M. Gupta VP Technology-Lime Labs LLCLimeDomains officially gets launched today, I mean “officially” because as John mentioned we have been around a few months working on strengthening our platform. We’ve focused at making LimeDomains feature rich and a usable platform that offers a rich repository of open source web applications for users, who not only want to be on the web but also want to make their presence felt. We are very happy by the level of acceptance LimeDomains has generated around the world, with our minimal marketing effort.

Our vision stays the same since our inception—bringing down the cost of entry to the web to zero (yep, you read it right), by making super easy to install a gamut of open source applications such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, phpBB & many more. We completely understand that not everyone on the web is a professional webmaster, so we offered a user friendly interface that enables users to install application in just a click of a mouse.

In a few months, we have reached the milestone of 25,000 active users. These statistics reflect that we have been able to live the Lime Labs vision to a good extent. Everyone says we’re different from others, so do we and we’re putting every bit possible to prove our claim true. We’re a new entrant to this space but we promise to be the most exciting by making it easy for users to create either a 2 page website or a complete e-commerce solution by just the click of a button. Stay tuned for more exciting features, new applications and more innovations to follow.

Announcing LimeDomains

Today we are officially announcing the launch of LimeDomains. This might seem odd to some of our users, since we’ve John Enrightactually been live for a few months - but we’ve intentionally kept a low profile up until now to ensure that our growth doesn’t outpace our ability to provide a high quality of service. Our goal is to to bring the barrier to entry on the web down to zero (where it should be), while delivering the same professional level of service other companies charge hundreds of dollars a year for.

The response to our offer so far has been amazing - we now have over 25,000 active users, and more than 10,000 instances of open source web applications have been published on our platform. Our users run the gamut - from professional web developers to non-profit community organizations - but they all share one thing in common: a desire to create something dynamic, interactive, and engaging on the web.

While this announcement is an important milestone for us since it introduces LimeDomains to a larger audience - it certainly doesn’t represent the end of our development efforts. Existing users will attest to our steady stream of iterative enhancements to the application catalog and account management interface - and these innovations will continue throughout the months to come. Look for more applications, an improved app installation process, additional services, and more features - and that’s just what we have in store for the next 60 days or so!
